The Pune Railway Station, on Central Railway, building has completed 90 years. The building wasinaugurated on July 27, 1925 by the then governor of Bombay, Sir Leslie Wilson
pune: The historic building of the pune railway station, which was built during the British era entered its 91st year on Monday.
Railway officials stated that the building was inaugurated on July 27,1925 by the then Mumbai governor Leslie Wilson.
On the occasion, many trains form Mumbai were sent to pune and the city was being consideredas an important location for trade and com merce.
President of Railway Pravasi Group,Harsha Shah stated that on this occasion, the railwayadministration must take steps towards making the pune railway station.
"Pune city is growing rapidly and hence the railway authorities should have already made a concrete plan with a view to make the railway station world class. Also, at present, authorities must check the basic amenities that need to be provided at the station premises and do the same for passenger convenience,"she added.
Shah said that no celebrations could be planned at the railway station on Monday as therailway station was on high alert after the attacks in pune jab.
